YAEP! follows the methods, theories and ethics of social work and therefore fosters a close relationship to professionals in social work.
YAEP! understands itself as a professional project, yet with the ability to experiment with new contexts and schemata.
People working with and for YAEP! approach the fellow artists and workmates on eye-to-eye level with an open-minded attitude, willing to learn from each other and willing to share their own knowledge.
YAEP! constantly scrutinizes itself.
Borda to Borda 2014
Building up on the foundations of Borda to Borda 2013, the newest project brought Taye, Moze, Felix, Joram and Oscar to Europe. Together with the Swiss board, Jocelyn and Johannes, and Zaunkönig, a band from Berlin, they played 11 concerts, held 8 workshops and presented 3 photo exhibitions, both in Switzerland and Germany. Attracting far over 2500 people at the events and stretching over more than six week the project is a remarkable success in the timeline of YAEP! as well as in the timeline of the artists involved.
Borda to Borda 2013
Before it became an international music project, «Borda to Borda» was nothing more (and nothing less) than the motivation of some people to record a few songs together. In August 2013 Joram, Felix, Taye, Oscar and Moze from Uganda and Jocelyn and Johannes from Switzerland recorded the Album «Borda to Borda / D'une Frontière à l'Autre» in Kampala, Uganda. Recorded within only one month the album captured the vibe and energy that inhabits the project ever since. More than 400 copies of the album have been sold worldwide.
Breakfast Jam Kenia and Jinja eliminations
YAEP! supported the Breakfast Jam Kenia and Jinja eliminations as a part of its efforts to promote intercultural and creative exchange worldwide. Break-Fast Jam is a Ugandan hiphop archetype whose overall imperative is giving a different dimension to the breaking culture in Africa.
